True story of the murder of Clublands drug dealer Angel Menedes in 1996 at the hand of Michael Alig, kid from South Bend, Indiana, self-proclaimed party promoter extraordinaire.
James St James recreates hedonistic post 80's New York - the crazed drug binges, his own ketamine addiction, the thrills, the gender-bender frocks, the parties. As the stakes got higher, the 'anything but boring' philosophy produced many casualties. James tells of Michael's very cruel, dark side, the bludgeoning, injecting of Drano, the dismemberment of Angels body and the eventual disposal of him in the river. He doesn't leave us particularly sympathetic to his friend Michael, however we see the charisma, the captivating ability that Michael had for attracting people, glimmer through the madness of this twisted time.
