Tread carefully into the truly desperate world of Phildy Hackball. Meet depraved voyeuristic schoolmasters and delinquent student nurses. These delightfully wicked and incongruous tales set in Barntrosna, Ireland are bound to shock and horrify as nothing appears to be held sacred by Mc Cabe. A true treasure-trove of paradoxes. Exploitative writing at it's finest. McCabe's independent and often idiosyncratic way of seeing his characters is refreshing.
Hardly a pleasant character insight.
Dark exhilarating reading.
