I didn't have my hopes up for this one initially, most recent teens on nights out’ flicks have come across like extended beer commercials with touches of introspection added for depth.

It’s ‘The Invisible Man’ again, updated for the nineties, but with a whole team of scientists rather than the one, and with the action largely confined to an underground research lab.

The only slight downfall of the film is that it seems to go off the wall a little too much towards the end and loses some of the plot.

A return to form of sorts for Sandler, (whose first film ‘Happy Gilmore, was actually really good), but for all it’s pleasures still riddled with enough trademark problems ( sentimental, occasionally homophobic , wasting Harvey Keitel!) to shift it up a notch to being great.

As films go, at over three hours long, Magnolia is a bit of a Ghandi. If Magnolia was an inflight movie on Korean Air, I'd only have to watch it about four times. Now, that doesn't mean it's a bad movie, in fact to the contrary, it's quite a powerhouse and not really that sleepworthy, but honestly, three hours long?!
