It’s old news that every season the cast of ‘Friends’ get together to bitch and whinge about not being paid enough, and always manage to wring a few more thousand out of the suits at Warner Bros. Television. With the exception of Courtney Cox, attempts to abscond away to movie stardom have resulted in some severe ‘Turkage’, a fistful of fitful romantic comedies that bombed with a vengeance.
Pay attention, here comes the awesome cash request bit ! - Rachel really wants out of the apartment for good, and Jennifer Anniston is hoping that the cast’s latest request for an extra half-million per episode ( !*%!!) will result in a final refusal and she’ll be able to walk. This could kick off a mass exodus, especially with no-one for Ross to gulp over, but it’s rumoured that the creators hope to plug the dyke (heh-heh) with the re-introduction of Reese Witherspoon as Rachel’s sister. Reese’s previous pieces include her fantastic performance in ‘Election’ and whole bunch of critically acclaimed parts, and she’s got way more acting range than Aniston, but in a group show as tight and set in stone as ‘Friends’ will that count for anything?
