Buffy creator Joss Whedon’s a pretty busy guy, what with two hit TV shows on his hands, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped him branching into extra curricular activities. In the bag already is his re-write of the summer blockbuster ‘X-Men’ movie, which the producers have unwisely nixed – they wanted it ‘hip’ and he gave ‘em it, but they’ve opted for the safe option and kept it nice and dull – according to the latest reports anyway. So next up is a shot at injecting some Buffster cool into that most staid of film franchises, the ‘Star Trek’ movies. ‘Star Trek 10’ (ten !!! – yikes.) is in production and Whedon is on board. Can even he make a bunch of dullards in one pieces on a starship sexy and witty? Watch this space.
