Finally, the man who can apparently ‘do himself’ is going to ‘do it’ to us poor cinema-going public. ‘Mad’ Mike Flatley, the bandanna-sporting hoofer is taking things one step further in his quest to become ‘The World’s most foolish man’ by producing and starring in his own rag-to-riches story – ‘The Lord of the Dance’. What most shocking about this is that he’s managed to get Minnie Driver playing his bird, and a oscar nominated writer Shane Connaughton to pen it. Whether they’ll be breaking into song and dance in the early scenes where Mike’s working on a building site remains to be seen, but for sure on release (April 2001 !) this’ll have the same fascinating appeal as a highly grisly road accident.
