Wow – now that’s a FAST sequel. Less than a year later after the first low-budget horror mockumentary stormed the screens a second film is in the can and ready for release. The trailer is doing the rounds in US cinemas and on the internet and it look to be a very different kettle of fish from the original. Gone is the hand-held black and white stuff – this looks like a typical bit of glossy Hollywood product, and the cast don’t look like they’ll be going quite over the top as the first trio of unhappy campers.
The story follows four college students following up the trail of the previous three and end up spending the night in long dead murderer Rustin Parr’s house – the guy mentioned in the first film who blamed his crimes on the witch. From there on, things seem to go pretty weird as the gang are haunted by strange visions, suffer strange marks appearing on their bodies, and generally go out of their minds. Hopefully what’ll stop this from being too generic a scare movie is the inclusion of some cool horror/sci-fi stuff involving temporal gates and other dimensions. Those that have seen it have given it big thumbs up, so I’m definitely going to get excited as the witching hour approaches – probably not till Xmas for us poor Brits.
